Yarra Valley Wineries Region Day Trip

What you’ll do

Beginners welcome! Pickup at Ladygreen cafe, 424 New Street, Brighton at 0930 - The cafe is a pleasant walk down Martin St from Gardenvale train station on the Sandringham line from the city. We grab a coffee while the group plans the days itinerary, then take off to shoot a pic in front of the colourful Brighton Bathing Boxes on the beach before heading out to explore the wineries and other attractions of the Yarra Valley region. Explore the sights along the way while we introduce ourselves and share stories. The aim is to choose as a group the 2 or 3 wineries we visit before lunch, the third winery or brewery where we eat lunch and enjoy a glass of vino or tasting paddle. Then off we go to check-in at a further 2 or 3 wineries or the Healesville Wildlife Sanctuary, Chocolaterie, Gin distillery or Craft Brewery before heading back to Melbourne for drop-off around 6.30. Most winery tastings are free, some charge AUD$5 that is refunded with any purchase, Chandon charges $12 to taste 6 sparkling wines with a $6 discount on purchase. Lunch costs around $20 per head. Wildlife sanctuary entry costs $36. The wineries and other attractions we visit are chosen by the group from a comprehensive list of around 65 wineries in the area, with guidance from your host - Pete
